Hello dear friends,
I am very delighted to be employing all sorts of LinkedIn-approved phrases such as “it’s been a long time coming” and “finally I can share…” to let you know about some “professional news”, that along with my favourite creative consultancy, A Studio of Our Own, I am launching a limited number of workshops to help charities and social purpose companies identify their values and voice.
This is the work I love, going into teams and asking “yeah, but why?”, prodding and poking (consensually) to find out what their work’s really about and why they do it. And I get to do it with two of the brilliant people who did it to me! Again, consensually.
Back in t’day, BGP’s website was a picture of lava and although I am still proud of my original design of the pad logo, the branding was nowhere the clean, punchy visual it is today. The ASOOO team took the voice and imagery I had created and made it bloody excellent. And now, we’re putting our heads together to do it for you (or an organisation you know.)
BGP circa 2017
What else? Well, my husband pointed out this week, that BGP is probably one of the only charities in the world with not just donors, but fans. People who are seriously engaged in the cause, and how we talk about it and what we do about it. And how does that happen? Values. Upright, bulletproof values. Basically, a set of “rules” that your organisation lives by, helping you answer difficult questions and make important decisions. But you’d be surprised how few organisations actually have a set of values, or at least ones that mean something beyond “we are a company” and “we do good (when possible)”. We’ll help you with that too. Essentially, you’ll come out of these workshops knowing who you are, what you do, and how to talk about it effectively.
Sound good? Thought so.
If you’d like to find out more, then please visit www.astudioofourown.com/workshops or reply to this email. And of course, if this isn’t for you, but you know someone who might appreciate it, do the nice thing and ...
Lots of love,
Gabby xx
